Holaaa, Droom je stiekem van een stage op Curacao? Mijn naam is Sterre en in september heb ik mijn droom waargemaakt en ben ik naar Curacao gevlogen om stage te lopen op het heerlijke eiland. Ik keek onwijs uit naar mijn hr stage op Curacao en kon niet wachten om te vertrekken! In mijn blog neem ik jullie mee!

Studentenhuis en weekplanning
Ik woon in een studentenhuis op Curacao met ongeveer 40 andere Nederlandse studenten super dichtbij Mambo beach (hier ga je altijd uit). Doordeweeks moeten we allemaal gewoon stage lopen, maar in de avonden gaan we gezellig samen koken, eten afhalen, of uit eten!

Als je kijkt naar hoe de week eruit ziet dan hebben we eigenlijk wel een standaard planning. Op de woensdagen en vrijdagen zijn er Happy Hours op Mambo beach. Hier gaan we direct na stage heen met het hele huis (dat is soms nog best wel een gehaast haha).

Wat ik zo leuk vind aan de happy hours is dat er ook stagiaires van andere studentenhuizen op het eiland aanwezig zijn. Tijdens je stage op Curacao zal je merken dat het eigenlijk een kleine Nederlandse studenten community is waar we elke week allerlei leuke activiteiten doen met elkaar!!

Het weekend
Ja, het weekend…! Op zaterdag is er altijd een strandfeestje op Zanzi en op zondag gaan we bijvoorbeeld vaak naar Fuik. Fuik is een baai waar meerdere boten liggen en er altijd partys zijn! Ook organiseren we met het huis allerlei activiteiten, zoals Carnaval of een feestje op een vlot op het Spaanse water. Als we niet naar fuik gaan dan rijden we op zondag met een koelbox gevuld met borrelhapjes en bier naar Westpunt om daar op de prachtige stranden te liggen.

Tijdens mijn stage op Curacao was ik werkzaam in de rol als hr-adviseur bij verschillende projecten voor opdrachtgevers. Dit waren mooie opdrachtgevers om voor te werken. Denk hierbij aan bijvoorbeeld Rijksdienst Caribisch Nederland! Ik was daarnaast ook verantwoordelijk voor de ontwikkeling van hr-instrumenten, assessment centers (SHL) en ik ontwikkelde contracten en beleidsdocumenten voor diverse opdrachtgevers.

Mijn stagebedrijf op Curacao bestaat uit een paar medewerkers. Dit vind ik persoonlijk juist fijn omdat ik veel verantwoordelijkheid krijg en dus ook meer kansen om mezelf te bewijzen. Benieuwd waar ik stage loop? Kijk dan naar deze vacature:

Mijn toekomst
Mijn stage op Curacao zit er inmiddels alweer bijna op net als mijn studie! Hierna wil ik mijn master gaan halen! Ik zit op dit moment te denken aan de master Business Administration.

Ik geniet enorm van mijn stage op Curaçao, leer veel, heb inmiddels super veel leuke vrienden gemaakt en mag gelukkig nog even genieten van zon, zee, strand & gezelligheid!!

Sterre’s stagetips Curacao

  1. Huur geen scooter. Het verkeer op Curaçao is anders dan in Nederland;
  2. Spaar genoeg zodat je niet krap bij kas zit. Kijk bij (;
  3. Neem geen handdoeken mee vanuit Nederland, maar koop dat hier! Dat scheelt weer kofferruimte;
  4. Blijf fit tijdens je stage! Voor je het weet tikken de Sodka en Bright namelijk toch wel aan. Ik deed bijvoorbeeld bootcamp. Kijk hier maar eens https://bootcampcuracao.com/
